POBNEWS24, Dhaka Mar 4, 2026 : Iran’s military capabilities, missiles and drones are quite powerful. The defense systems of America and Israel have failed us to deal with them. We are capable of waging war as long as we want.
Iranian Ambassador Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi said this at a press conference organized at the Iranian Embassy in Dhaka on Wednesday.
He said, as a member country of the OIC and NAM, Bangladesh expects that the aggressive attackers in Iran will directly condemn it.
The ambassador said, Bangladesh is a Muslim country. At the same time, it is a member of the OIC and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). As such, we expect that it will directly condemn or protest against an aggressive power.
Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi said, Iran has the ability to continue this war for a long time. We have sufficient drones and missiles, including the necessary military power. We do not want logistical support from any other country.
He said, “We just want other Muslim countries to show sympathy and support for a Muslim country when it is attacked.” Ambassador Jahanabadi said that Bangladeshi students in Iran have been evacuated to a safe place. He said, “I do not have the exact statistics of how many Bangladeshis are in Iran at the moment. However, I know this much that the Bangladesh Embassy in Tehran is in regular contact with the Iranian Foreign Ministry.” The ambassador expressed hope that as a Muslim country, all Muslim countries should condemn and protest against aggressive forces and not allow their territory or facilities to be used to attack other countries. This is very important for the security of the entire region.
Terming the assassination of Ayatollah Khamenei as “cowardly,” the ambassador said, “Our Supreme Leader did not believe in any special shelter. He was working in an office. He was suddenly attacked and martyred there. This is not a failure of Iran’s intelligence agency, but only a nefarious plan of America and Israel.” The ambassador also said that Iran will never be aggressive towards Israel. However, in the event of any aggression, we will resist to the last drop of our blood. Death is better than living humiliatingly.
Regarding the election of Iran’s next leader, the ambassador said that the current leadership is being controlled by a three-member committee consisting of the president, the head of the judiciary, and a member of the Guardian Council. The responsibility of electing a new leader lies with their Expert Council. It is hoped that the results will be reached within a few days.
The ambassador said that after the start of this war, the Iranian people have not raised any slogans against the government. After the martyred Ayatollah, millions of Iranians have taken to the streets. Iranians are nationalists; everyone unites in the face of external aggression.
The ambassador said that whenever any kind of cooperation is requested or any issue is reported to the Iranian government, the highest and most appropriate measures will be taken accordingly.
He said, “We do not see any difference between Iranians and foreigners. The government will take equal steps to solve any problems of those currently residing in our country.”
