This is not just a national anthem, it is an oath of fire. Just as this song paints a portrait of a mother, there is a silent protest against colonialism and arbitrariness.
Now, when there is an attempt to distort history in the name of politics, it is important to look back at Rabindranath because he taught us how to awaken a nation through language, culture, thought and courage.

The mud houses of the hostel were demolished long ago, and only one house bears witness to the times, and that too is on the verge of extinction. The tin roof has blown away in the wind, and rainwater is falling on the house.
