POBNEWS24, Dhaka, Jan 23, 2026 : The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has written to the ICC again, insisting on not playing the T20 World Cup in India. The letter has requested that their demand be sent to an impartial committee. The BCB is hopeful that the ICC will respond to this request. The players are mentally
The pain of not being able to play after all the preparations is weighing on them. The BCB is under a lot of pressure from the players. This was reported by a reliable source on Friday.
Meanwhile, after a meeting with representatives of the Bangladesh cricket team and the board on Thursday, the interim government’s Youth and Sports Advisor Asif Nazrul said that they will not come to India to play the T20 World Cup in any way. Instead, Bangladesh’s World Cup matches should be held in Sri Lanka or any other neutral country. However, the ICC had earlier said that Bangladesh will have to come to India to play the T20 World Cup.
Asif requested a review of the decision. On Thursday, the Bangladesh Cricket Board sent another email to the ICC. It is reported that there is a request for the intervention of an impartial committee.
If there is a dispute over any matter managed by the ICC, it is sent to the impartial dispute resolution committee. This committee, which consists of independent lawyers, resolves any dispute. In the email, the BCB has requested that the demand for changing the venue of their matches in the World Cup be sent to that committee. The Bangladesh Board will accept whatever decision is made there. It is not yet clear whether the ICC will respond to this request. Because they have already announced their final decision about Bangladesh. If that happens, Bangladesh will not be seen in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
The World Cup is starting from February 7. This time, India is the host country of the World Cup. Bangladesh has four group stage matches in Kolkata and Mumbai. But after the Indian Cricket Board did not allow Bangladeshi cricketer Mustafizur Rahman to play in the IPL, Bangladesh also informed that they will not be able to play any matches in India due to security reasons.
Meanwhile, the interim Yunus government is facing extreme criticism for not going to play in India. A storm of criticism has already erupted on various social media. The Bangladesh cricket team was able to establish a position in the world during the previous government, which has now reached the bottom due to fanatical fundamentalists. If they do not play, the players will face losses, and Bangladesh cricket will face losses. Cricket lovers in Bangladesh are hoping that everything will be fine in a day or two.
