POBNEWS24, Dhaka Sept 3, 2025 : Protesting the threat of gang rape of a student who filed a writ petition in the court regarding the DUCSU elections at Dhaka University on September 9, a human chain was formed at the main gate of the Supreme Court on Wednesday afternoon demanding to prevent and ban the Jamaat-e-Islami student organization Shibir. Rakibul Islam, president of BNP’s student organization Chhatra Dal, commented that wherever Chhatra Shibir engages in secret politics on the Dhaka University campus and on the streets, they will be resisted.
The Chhatra Dal president said in the human chain that Chhatra Shibir wants to implement many things through their espionage, they have been engaged in secret politics for the past 15 and a half years, if they are still ashamed like women, I urge them to wear burqas and bangles and do this politics. Only those who are brave and conscientious will engage in student politics.
The Chhatra Dal president said that they do not fear anyone except Allah. But we have seen that for 15 and a half years, they have been more afraid of the murderer Hasina than God. They did not even dare to give a status against the murderer Hasina. They are directly involved in the attacks on ordinary students and Chhatra Dal leaders and activists with Chhatra League posts and titles in all educational institutions. Since their identities are secret, not even a GD has been filed against those Chhatra Shibir leaders. Therefore, wherever they do secret politics on campus, on the streets, they will be resisted.
Chhatra Dal General Secretary Nasir Uddin said, a Shibir leader who was a candidate in the DUCSU elections was involved with Chhatra League, and a leftist sister of ours filed a writ only because of his involvement with the Chhatra League. For that crime, a secret organization Chhatra Shibir member threatened to gang rape our fellow fighter sister by marching, and this human chain of ours is in protest against the continuous cyber bullying of the leaders and activists of the secret organization and the physical assault of women in different parts of the country.
He alleged that in every incident of cyberbullying, attacking and humiliating women in Bangladesh after the mass uprising, and threatening gang rape, leaders and activists of Chhatra Shibir at various levels are involved. Under the patronage of the current Dhaka University administration, especially the Vice Chancellor and Proctor, secret politics is going on in the university. Whether anyone knows where secret politics is going on in Dhaka University, where open politics is going on, the Vice Chancellor of the university, the Proctor knows exactly where Chhatra Shibir is doing politics.
This Chhatra Dal leader demanded the Vice Chancellor of the university to declare that there should be no secret politics in Dhaka University. Nasir said, otherwise, as you have seen, the leader of the secret organization Ali Hussain threatened my sister with gang rape by marching, such incidents will continue to happen. But no matter how much this happens, because Chhatra Shibir is doing secret politics, because they do not disclose their committee, when it is revealed, they will declare that that person is not involved in their student politics in any way.
The leader said, “We demand that the safety of the sister who was threatened with gang rape during the march be ensured. At the same time, due to the cyberbullying that is happening to women and the harassment that is being done by the secret organization Chhatra Shibir, we would like to make a strong appeal to all the female students of Dhaka University that you will not elect any panel of any level of the secret organization Chhatra Shibir in the student parliament elections at Dhaka University on the 9th.”
During the human chain, Chhatra Dal leader and Jagannath University student Rupanti Ratna said, “We, female students, want to be active in politics, but the fear of secret organizations drags us down every day. 52 percent of the total voters in Bangladesh are women. Yet we repeatedly face obstacles in politics. Because those who do not do politics openly, they humiliate us from behind, abuse us, and threaten us. Now is the time to stop this secret politics. We want the university administration and the state to take strict action against these criminals. The campus must be made safe for female students. Otherwise, we women will not remain silent.”
