POBNEWS24, Desk report Dhaka Nov 27, 2025 : The country’s Adiala Jail authorities have called the news of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan being moved from prison and his death as rumors and baseless.
The rumors were that the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been moved from prison to another place.
However, the UAE media outlet Gulf News, citing Pakistani media outlet Geo News, reported that the prison authorities claimed that he is still in Adiala Jail and healthy.
The Rawalpindi prison authorities said in a statement, “The news of his being moved from Adiala Jail is completely false. He is completely healthy and receiving full medical facilities.”
The officials also said that the speculation about his health is “baseless.” They also said that the health of the PTI founder is being ensured.

Imran Khan, who has been in prison since August 2023, is facing various cases ranging from corruption to terrorism after losing power. He was ousted in a no-confidence vote in April 2022.

Meanwhile, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif claimed that the PTI founder was getting more comfort in prison than before. He said, “The food that comes for him is not comparable to that of a five-star hotel.”

Asif also said that he has a television and can watch any channel he wants.

He said, “There is also an exercise machine for him.”

He compared this situation to his own imprisonment.

He said, “We slept on the cold floor, ate prison food, and in January there were only two blankets without hot water.” He also said that the then Superintendent Asad Waraich had removed the geyser from his cell.

The Defense Minister also claimed that the PTI founder had been given a double bed and a “velvet mattress.”
“He should listen to his Washington Arena speech on the loudspeaker in jail,” he said.

He also said, “Fear God—time is in no one’s hands.”

Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the chairman of the main party in the ruling coalition, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), claimed on Wednesday that “those who brought Imran to power are the biggest criminals.”

In a speech to lawmakers who won the by-election, he said, “Imran Khan was not the only criminal. Those who brought him to power are even bigger criminals, and they should be held fully accountable.”

After the PML-N came to power in an alliance with the PPP after the 2024 elections, Nawaz has generally kept a low profile.

According to the Election Commission of Pakistan, in the 2018 elections, the PTI became the country’s largest political party. It won 115 of the 270 National Assembly seats.
