POBNEWS24, Dhaka Dec 18, 2025 : The Indian Visa Centre (IVEC) has reopened. The Indian High Commission in Dhaka confirmed this information on Thursday.
The High Commission said that after reviewing the security situation in the morning, the Indian Visa Centre in Dhaka has reopened and resumed operations as usual from today. We understand the difficulties of the applicants.
The Indian High Commission said that based on the increasing security situation, the operations of IVEC will be re-evaluated. Visa services at other IVECs in Bangladesh are also being reviewed in light of the prevailing security situation at those places.
Incidentally, the ‘July Unity’, a front of several organizations associated with the July Mass Uprising, announced a ‘March to Indian High Commission’ program in Dhaka to protest the repatriation of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and other accused in the July Mass Uprising and the continued conspiracy of Indian proxy political parties and government officials.
In the context of that program, the Indian Visa Center located at Jamuna Future Park was closed from 2 pm on Wednesday due to the security situation.
