‘Sheikh Hasina is the greatest lying dictator in the history of the world’: Attorney General

POBNEWS24, Dhaka Aug 3, 2025 : Bangladesh Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman has commented that Sheikh Hasina is the greatest lying dictator in the history of the world. He said that no dictatorship like Sheikh Hasina has been born in the history of the world. She is the greatest lying dictator in the world.
The Attorney General said this in a brief speech before starting the opening statement against the three accused, including ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in the case of crimes against humanity committed during the July mass uprising at the International Crimes Tribunal at 11:30 am on Sunday (August 3).
The Attorney General said that if any dictatorship wants to do a PhD on lies, it must learn from Sheikh Hasina. If an association of all the dictators of the world is formed, Sheikh Hasina will be its president.
Referring to today’s historic day, Md. Asaduzzaman said in a brief speech that we want the maximum punishment for the dictatorship and its associates for the future of Bangladesh, for the future generations.
At this time, the Attorney General presented before the court the consequences of any dictatorship in the world.
The hearing began at the three-member International Crimes Tribunal-1 led by Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder. The other two members of the tribunal are Justice Md. Shafiul Alam Mahmud and Judge Md. Mohammad Mohitul Haque.
The trial is being broadcast live on Bangladesh Television on the tribunal’s Facebook page.
Apart from Sheikh Hasina, the other two accused in this case are former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun. The tribunal has accepted Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun’s application to become a royal witness on the condition that the complete truth be revealed.
