The Prime Minister crossed the Padma Bridge of her dreams

POBNEWS24, Dhaka June 25, 2022 : Finally, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the dream by crossing the Padma Bridge. Today, Saturday (June 25) at around 12 noon with the guests inaugurated the road of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project. Earlier, he took part in a munajat by unveiling a nameplate in the Mawa desert. Then he paid the toll at the toll plaza with his own hands.

Earlier, the Prime Minister reached Dogachhi Padma Bridge Service Area-1 in Munshiganj by helicopter at 10 am. From there, he addressed a gathering at the ground adjacent to the north police station of the bridge and addressed the gathering as the chief guest.

In her inaugural address at the Padma Bridge, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Bengalis are a nation of heroes. Every turn in the history of Bengal has been marked by sacrifice and bloodshed. But the Bengalis have raised their heads again. ‘

Sheikh Hasina said, we stand at a special juncture in history. The Padma Bridge, the pride of the people of Bengal, is going to be inaugurated soon. I would like to express my gratitude to all the officials and employees involved in the construction of this bridge, local and foreign experts, consultants, contractors, engineers, technicians, workers, members of the army in charge of security. Thanks to the residents on both sides of the Padma Bridge whose lands and houses have been damaged. The nation will always remember their sacrifice and cooperation.

Cabinet Secretary Anwarul Islam gave a welcome address in the presidency of Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader. Speaker of the National Assembly, members of the cabinet, political leaders of the country, ambassadors of different countries and representatives of development partners, journalists, teachers and representatives of various professions took part.

The Prime Minister unveiled commemorative stamps, souvenir sheets, opening envelopes and special seals at 11:30 am. After paying the toll at the toll plaza in Mawa at 11:12 am, Sheikh Hasina will officially inaugurate the Padma Bridge by unveiling the inaugural plaque and mural-1. The Prime Minister will take part in the prayers there.

At 11:23 a.m., the Prime Minister will leave Mawa for Jajira in Shariatpur. Arriving at Jazira Point at 12:15 pm, he will unveil the inaugural plaque of the bridge and mural-2. He will also join the prayers there.
