POBNEWS24,Dhaka, July 24, 2025 : As a sign of India-Bangladesh friendship and diplomatic relations, an Indian medical team arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday on the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The specialized team includes doctors and nurses from Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and Safdarjung Hospital. These two hospitals are two of India’s leading hospitals specializing in burns and plastic surgery.
The medical team exchanged views on various aspects of treatment with the opening officials of the Bangladesh Health Ministry on Thursday, in the presence of the opening officials of the Bangladesh Health Ministry and officials of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
On Monday, a fighter jet crashed into Milestone School and College in Uttara, the capital of Bangladesh, killing 31 people, including two teachers.
Meanwhile, the identities of seven of the people killed when an Air Force fighter jet crashed into Milestone School and College in Uttara, the capital, were unknown. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police has identified five of them through DNA tests.
A statement from the media wing of the CID on Thursday said that the identities of the five deceased have been identified through DNA tests at the CID forensic lab.
An Air Force fighter jet crashed into a two-story building of Milestone School and College on Monday afternoon. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that 31 people were killed and 165 were injured in the incident.
Two more people injured in the incident later died. Thus, the total number of deaths in the incident has reached 33.
The CID said in a press release that on July 22, members of the CID DNA lab collected a total of 11 DNA samples from unidentified bodies and body parts kept at Dhaka CMH in the wake of the horrific fire caused by the plane crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara. After analyzing these samples, DNA profiles of a total of five women were found. The identities of the five bodies have been confirmed by analyzing profiles prepared from the collected samples and profiles of a total of 11 members of 5 families from the time of the incident until July 23.
