POBNEWS24, Desk report Dhaka Dec 5, 2025 : Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced ‘uninterrupted’ fuel supply to India. Putin made the announcement at a joint press conference with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Hyderabad House, the state guest house in New Delhi, on Friday. Earlier, they held a bilateral meeting.
At the beginning of the press conference, Putin thanked Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Modi for the ‘warm welcome’. Then, regarding the bilateral meeting with Modi, Putin said, ‘We had discussions in a “constructive” and “friendly atmosphere”. We have “regular” phone conversations for various needs.’
Putin described the agreements between the two countries as ‘interesting’. At the beginning of the press conference, the details of the new agreements were announced. Several agreements were signed to strengthen trade and agricultural relations between the two countries during Putin’s visit. Putin expressed satisfaction with the negotiations on the agreements. Putin also announced assistance in building India’s largest nuclear project.
Regarding oil, Putin said that Russia is ready to supply India with fuel ‘uninterruptedly’. But there is pressure on India from the United States to buy fuel from Russia. Washington’s accusation is that New Delhi is helping Moscow continue its war against Kiev by buying fuel. US President Donald Trump has imposed an additional 25 percent tariff on Indian goods as punishment for this accusation.
Putin arrived in the Indian capital New Delhi on Thursday evening on a two-day visit. Narendra Modi welcomed him at the Palam airport. It is reported that he will leave India around 9 pm on Friday.
