POBNEWS24, Desk Report Dhaka Mar 1, 2026 : Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman personally encouraged and encouraged US President Donald Trump to take a position in favor of a military attack on Iran a month ago by making multiple phone calls.
This has been claimed in a report by The Washington Post.
According to the report, despite publicly talking about a diplomatic solution, the crown prince privately favored tough action against Iran.
However, in January this year, he said that Saudi Arabia’s airspace or territory would not be allowed to be used for attacks against Iran and that Washington and Tehran should resolve the dispute through dialogue.
Joint US-Israeli Attack The United States and Israel launched joint attacks on Iranian military and government facilities on Saturday, March 1, in the wake of stalled nuclear talks and allegations that Iran had resumed nuclear activities.
Trump said that “heavy and precise bombing” would continue throughout the week if necessary.
Tensions rise in retaliation for Iran’s attacks After the attacks on Iran, Iran also launched retaliatory attacks on Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Doha in Qatar and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, raising the risk of renewed conflict in the Middle East.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the Iranian attacks in a statement, calling them “clear and cowardly”. It said Iran knew that Saudi Arabia did not allow it to use its airspace for attacks.
After the attacks, the Saudi crown prince spoke with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and Jordan’s King Abdullah II.
He assured regional solidarity and said that Saudi Arabia was ready to provide all kinds of assistance if needed.
